Bye bye Cordoba, it was nice to be a slow traveller here. But immediately outside town it seemed to have planned to hold me. The pushing started and lasted, hill 1 was a tough one and the first in a to long time ...

Besides that this location was also the end of the "regular taxi-tarif". Which made a taxi a no-go ...

After up and down hill 1

came up and down hill 2.

The last view at Cordoba, and its Rio Guadalquivir where I had been wildcamping so long 🖱️.

And then my first 2023 sunflowers showed Up. They are one of the few plants that don't need artificial water.

Shortly after I passed an olivefarm that had the gate open, which is quite an exception. So I cycled the 50mts to the house where a man just came out the door. I held up my bidon, the man filled it and asked me some questions, and he spoke english very well. To then ask if I wanted a cool refresco (lemonade) which I did and he even brought me a second one. Then a second man came out to bring me a very nice sandwich with a homemade sausice of self-hunted wild boar. And I was asked to come inside were also the wife and his girlfriend were.

But the younger man was getting more and more in doubt about my cycling in this very hot climate. "You should start cycling at 0500 and stop at 1200 to have a siesta until 2000 to then continue" he said several times. I explained him there often is no shadow outside towns, and that I do take a rest if there is any.

He then came up with the plan to transport me with his van to a petrolstation where there is shadow. I didn't want that but both men got more and more persistant, and finally I accepted. The atmosphere had been very nice and I didn't want this special visit to end up (down) in a negative way.

So, to be sure, I informed them I was heading for Bujalance to the east, being the first town from here at some 35kms to go. We took off but after few minutes I noticed we were heading north. I ended up way to far north, in the small village of Los Angeles (in quite a crowded area) and I knew I had a new problem. It was already 17h00 and I was some 100vms more down again and some 12kms away from my planned track. The blue line is what I cycled today, the red line is where I want to cycle in the near future and "Tent" is close to where I was "delivered". Thank you so much for the ride ...

All wheels can move your body, but only 2 wheels can move your soul !

To get to my planned first wildcampspot (along that red line) I would have headwind and more worse was that 100vms more down (up) does not at all mean to have only 100vms to climb. I cycled out of town to try to take the first hill, but I was not strong enough.

But only after few hundred meters I saw an oliveyard that looked quite abandoned. I found a very acceptable wildcampspot and decided to first have a (mental) rest. In the meantime I made up my mind and decided to put up camp here.

So once more I found a beautiful wildcampspot. I decided to not use the flysheet, after having checked the weatherforecast 😉. And the village and Cafe Bar Luis were only 15mins away by foot.

I cycled only 11.5kms but with 178vms. Then I was a passenger for 12kms in that van. And cycled 1km with 15vms and found my beautiful wildcampspot.

And this is the interactive map of today's YesTrip.

Let's see what this unexpected situation has to offer. Hopefully not to much since I like that ...
